@haroldgodwinson832 it's weird how all the rebuttals on this comments section are verbatim Kremlin talking points. The Cuban missile crisis was not about a defensive alliance. It was about installing NUCLEAR MISSILES 90km off the US mainland. Apples & oranges. Where on Russia's border with NATO are there nuclear weapons on NATO territory today? And if this war was about a NATO threat, 1)why has NATO not used this opportunity to invade Russia? 2) why has Sweden & Finland joining NATO been a non-event? 3) why are formerly Warsaw pact countries so desperate to get into NATO? Also it's strange you'd blame US "troublemaking since 2014" when it was Russia that invaded & annexed Crimea which is sovereign Ukrainian territory. And it was Russia that installed their troops & equipment on sovereign territory in the Donbas to create & fight a civil war.

Sure, Igor, "intervention" 😁
4
It's weird that every one of her points is verbatim Russian propaganda.
3
What exactly is she proposing? And how is it any different than what Chamberlain did?
3
@chriskeene241 citing a NATO exercise without articulating how it bolsters your previous position does nothing for your argument.
3
@chriskeene241 when criminals lose in court, that's the standard rebuttal: whataboutism
3
@chriskeene241 your "change of a chip" argument invalidates any need for ukraine being a buffer zone. Try again.
2
@chriskeene241 which part of "Result Kosovo declaration was not in violation of international law (10–4)" did you not understand?
2
@haroldgodwinson832 once again, see my question on Sweden/Finland. Also the Baltic states are already in NATO. Are there nuclear weapons there? Funny you talk about "critical thinking" when you are clearly incapable of that yourself. And dispense with the whataboutism. If you want to be taken seriously, stop parroting propaganda & whataboutism. Btw, I keep hearing about "a negotiated settlement". If I invade your house & take over a quarter of it, what portion will you settle for -- the garage, shed, bathroom, & kitchen?
1
@chriskeene241 once again, you just invalidated your own argument. Ukraine was under the Soviet Union when Able Archer occurred. So it being a "buffer" didn't work back then & it is even more moot today with the Baltic & Finland as Nato members. Besides, both sides conduct nuclear capability exercises. Aren't you concerned that Russia may be the one to initiate the mistake? Amazing the level of self delusion & brainwashing displayed by the Kremlin apologists. The way for Russia to have security is for it to stop playing the perpetual victim & stop being antagonistic, belligerent, & a threat to its neighbors. Ukraine being a "buffer" is a hollow excuse for a land grab & control of the Black Sea. What was the reason for the Transnistria land grab? And the invasion of S.Ossetia?
1
@chriskeene241 are you sure you're not a Kremlin stooge? Your arguments are identical. Now you've switched to whataboutism. Imagine my surprise. And does the 50 people killed in Odesa justify a Russian invasion of a country of 44 million people? Have you lost your mind? The 8 year war in Donbas was STARTED by Russia. Where did the artillery, anti tank weapons, & armor suddenly appear from?
1
@chriskeene241 Russian propaganda strategy #3: whataboutism #4: throw as much sh1t against the wall & hope that some sticks. "Accordance with International Law of the Unilateral Declaration of Independence in Respect of Kosovo was a request in 2008 for an advisory opinion referred to the International Court of Justice by the United Nations General Assembly regarding the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence. Result: Kosovo declaration was not in violation of international law (10–4)" "Resolution 1973 was adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 17 March 2011 in response to the First Libyan Civil War. The resolution formed the legal basis for military intervention in the Libyan Civil War, demanding "an immediate ceasefire" and authorizing the international community to establish a no-fly zone and to use all means necessary short of foreign occupation to protect civilians."
1
@chriskeene241 I already responded to you about Libya. Read it. It was also clear from that reply, that whataboutism on Kosova is another fail. That referendum was recognized by the UN. These fraudulent ones in Ukraine are not.
1
@chriskeene241 amazing how anti Western you are. Go live in Russia if you think it's better.
1
@chriskeene241 you're a Russian sympathizer. And a liar.
1
@chriskeene241 correction: you're a Kremlin sympathizer. And a liar.
1
@chriskeene241 9:00 to 9:40 If there was any doubt that this invasion was anything but a land grab, this muppet said the quiet part out loud.

@Paddystinian82 her "words" say nothing about the fact that the civil war was started in 2014 by putin instigating, arming, & supplying "separatists" in 2014. Nor about the illegal annexation of Crimea -- which went unopposed & emboldened putin to invade the whole country.
1
@Paddystinian82 Deaths caused by Putin's "civil war": 6 April 2014 – 31 December 2021 Civilians 3,404 killed (306 foreign) 6 April 2014 – 23 February 2022 ZSU, NGU, SBGS and volunteer forces 4,641 killed DPR and LPR forces 6,517 killed How many deaths have occurred after Putin’s "intervention" in the past 7 months?
1
@Paddystinian82 your nonsense about Crimea is a pile of manure. If any of what you said was meaningful, the Crimea annexation would have been recognized by the UN. It is NOT. And neither are the most recent sham referenda. So stuff that propaganda. Also I notice you ignored the questions in my previous reply. Imagine my surprise ... but since it's clear your account is a troll factory, ask your supervisor for more talking points.
