  2. You should see how absurd it is in India. In places that have now been computerized (banks, utility companies, etc), they're still using processes that they were using in the 1970s. And if you question it or offer suggestions to streamline, they get very hostile & tell you that there is a purpose to their madness. An employee will never propose an improvement to anyone up the chain of command. They have a "cog in the wheel" mentality & are perfectly happy to operate Iike machines.
