That was the inherent flaw with the referendum in the first place. Something as monumental, that would have generational implications, should have had a threshold of at least 2/3rd of the population participation.

@joshuasaragih4237 a ceasefire is meaningless if Russia keeps the occupied territory.

I'm an American living abroad. I haven't been back for almost 6 years & I was planning a US trip in spring. I've now decided I'll vacation in Europe instead.
55
It's that or calling the person antisemitic ...

@johnb2905 - Trump found Obama's Kenyan birth certificate, locked Hillary up, denuclearized North Korea, built that wall, got Mexico to pay for it, ended the "American carnage", brought back coal, reversed the trade deficit with China, stopped the world laughing at us ... & won the election ...
36
Look at how the Palestinians are treated in the West Bank for the answer.
32
@richardlewis7498 why didn't Ireland get rid of the IRA at the height of the bombings?
31
@angusmacangus3181 so the killings of civilians by Israeli snipers in previous conflicts was what exactly?
15
@mel24681 he shed tears for his country -- & ruined his eyeliner
15
@RammingSpeed-lk8kk why not, when it is owned & operated by Europeans? Or would you prefer the status quo where Europeans are filling the US Oligarchs pockets? If you disagree, what course of action do you propose?
13
@sonofsomerset1695 Musk fangirls: it's not a Notsee salute if you touch your chest first. Alrightey then ...
13
English is hard ... even for the English 😉
12
@ganishnutinishnu7370 -the fact check was done by the Washington Post. Now I suppose you'll say that fact check cannot be trusted either ... 😄

Or the fact that Hamas are not in the West Bank yet the conditions there are not much better, they have not made any concessions to the Palestinian Authority, & are continuing to build more settlements on illegally annexed land. Hamas were able to breach the border unopposed because the battalion supposed to be guarding it was deployed to the West Bank to protect settlers having a celebration of their newest settlement.

@kerenkroll yeah, keep telling yourself those fairy tales while the 1% buys another yacht.
7
I'm not even British, nor do I live in the UK or Europe -- & yet even I am aware of that freaking bus ad! 😁
6
@kerenkroll he accomplished jacksh1t -- except for the tax cut for the 1%. And slashing regulations for his cronies.
6
Or used toilet paper
6
Bingo!
5
Yup
5
It was a free commercial for zionism

🎯
4
Some nonsense about "3000 years ago" & a book of fairy tales ...
4
@kerenkroll btw, he personally benefitted from the slashed regulations. Imagine my surprise ...
4
😂
3
@kerenkroll that's the typical Trumptard Cult excuse. Nobody except the Dear Leader can be trusted for the truth.
3
@TheOutsider840 I would -- if the previous referendum had been decided on similar rules.
2
@craigk621 because "every election" is not remotely as momentous. This decision is generational.
2
@muttley5958 thanks. I thought it was a ham leg 😄

Israeli apartheid
2
@lunatigannie8860 sure, only your opinion is valid ... sounds exactly like Israel for the past 70 years ...
2
He was just fillibustering.
2
@EarthMagicBrno uh, no it isn't. If they keep it, it will be because they are imperialists.
2
@zzm9134 I can't help it if you continue to lie about basic facts.
2
@TheDogsbollocks925 sounds like copium. Moderate your dosage.
2
And yet you're here 😂
2
@malcolmstockbridge2569 or maybe their thumbs up are equivalent to applause. Or how would you interpret the 6 thumbs up on your comment? Climbing your bandwagon?
2
@greynolds17 - that was pretty much the point ...
2
@craigk621 tbh, that stat surprises me. However, the simple majority is still problematic. As someone else suggested, a super majority should have been required as well.
1
@craigk621 yes Einstein, I know the "rules were the rules". My contention is that they were poorly thought out.
1
@craigk621 your verbosity isn't doing you any favors
1
@craigk621 yes, amazing isn't it, there are more ways to spell words.
1
@craigk621 your assumptions are none of my concern. Neither is brexit. I'm simply commenting on the nature of these types of plebiscites & expressing an opinion on how they should be conducted in general. And English is a bastardized language to begin with, so a little more won't make much difference. You may want to look up the etymology of 'colour' before acting so superior & condescending.
1
@craigk621 what's risible about the fact that English is a bastardized language? Or is it your position that this is incorrect? Where do you think 'risible' originated? The irony ...
1
@nienke7713 yes, I agree
1
Source: trust me bro 😎

For the non-Brits among us, what's a "gammon"?
1
Um, what??
1
That's how they have occupied almost all of Palestinian territory & thumbed their noses at all UN resolutions for decades. Playing the victim is so profitable.
