  4.  @aleksanderchentsov4783  evidently obfuscation & misdirection is a Russian national trait -- a tactic to avoid reality & to propagate self delusion. A simple, honest answer would be: yes, most immigrants try to get into the West compared to autocratic states like Russia. But of course, neither simplicity nor honesty are part of the Russian psyche.

But it misses the larger point: refugees from Africa, Latin America, & Asia do not line up to move to Russia even though they could have a better life in Russia compared to their country of origin. Instead, they risk life & limb to get into Western nations.
