@Xi Xu. Obama deported 2m illegals. Yet Trump said he was weak on illegal immigration. So which is it? Also: the complaint over Trumps immigration is not so much about deportation as it is inhumane deportation of Dreamers, & family separation of those legally seeking asylum.

No, people who love him fall into 3 groups: a large percentage love him primarily because they see an unsophisticated, ignorant, boorish, bigot, bully, not unlike them, who panders to their insecurities. Another group (the wealthy, corporations, Wall Strret) love him because he's pulled the wool over the eyes of the working class & has given them everything they want: huge tax cuts & massive deregulation. A third group love him because he's rich & was on a reality tv show. It's the result of the dumbing down of America. Next up, President Kardashian ...

@Caleb - capitalism is a system which incentivizes profit. There is no built-in incentive for businesses to reduce pollution. That is where government & regulation come in. Taxes are part of that regulation & are intended to disincentivize a behavior. And the money can be used in a positive way. If you are opposed to taxes, the option remaining is to outright ban certain things: eg straws, plastic bags, are banned in many countries. Surprisingly many countries in the developing world have already implemented these bans: Kenya, Rwanda, Mexico. However, I doubt these regulations would see the light of day in the US. Since you oppose taxes, you should propose an alternative.

@liama liama - dude, I haven't been to China & yet I know how bad it is. There is no valid reason for your argument other than to argue as a whataboutism. It's a simple concept: keep your house clean, & then you have a moral ground on which to stand when you ask others to clean theirs. Americans need to lead on the issue, not shrug & say "what about xyz".
