  1. The revolution may have had western backing -- so what? Calling it a western puppet regime is simply regurgitating Kremlin propaganda. The people of Ukraine decided they would rather have a close relationship with the west rather than with Russia. The west had more to offer them economically. What did Russia have to offer, other than an extension of their kleptocracy?

  2.  @ricky6foot  there's no doubt US strove to have a pro-western leader. The Russians did the same with a pro-Russian with the previous government. The difference is the western-backed government was overwhelmingly supported by the Ukrainians, unlike the Russian one which was simply a puppet government. Keep your Kremlin brainwashing to yourself.
