@findingwig1211 If they had health insurance they did have to pay for the hospital stay. A few years ago I spent 8 days in the hospital and total cost was around $34,000 but I didn't have to pay anything because my health insurance paid for it. If someone charges $10,000 on their credit card and can't pay it back that's their fault, kind of crazy to blame the country.

@AmtrakandAWVRFan Coomon sence, choose a college that isn't so expensive. It's not a policy failure, I learned how to budget money when I was a teenager and certainly didn't need to be taught not to buy things on credit more than I could afford to repay. It's not rocket science

Wrong, wherever you visited you must have went to extremely bad parts of town because that is where homeless usually end up. Many homeless are drug addicts, alcoholics, don't work and don't want to work and have no money. The only alternative is by no means joining the military. It is getting and education or learning a skill or trade. The median income in Malaysin is about 17.000 USD but is about $80,000 in the US. The US also has a population of about 500 million people compared to about 30 million in Malaysia so please don't hink you understand America baed on visiting a few cities because I can assure you that you do not.

@zzzaras No ones trying to argue here but, like you said, you don't live here so you don't know as much about the US as you think you do and it appears they deleted my comment and I can't remember exactly what I said but I don't even know where you live so I don't understand how I could have said anything as though I knew anything about your country. Those cities you were at sounds like you were in downtown areas where the homeless tend to congregate, CA and New York are also two of the most expensive cities to live in the US. I live in a major US city and don't see any homeless. If you saw large congregations of homeless where you were when you were here, they weren't the greatest parts of town, otherwise the police would run them off. If you did your research,. you nwould know that the US has a homelessness rate of about .1% of the population of about 500 million, yet you seem to think it is everywhere. As far as access to housing, if you are talking about free to low income housing then yes not everybody can access it but there are programs that help people. People working, if they have a brain should live somewhere they can afford, it's that simple. Not everyplace is as expensive as New York or California. Rahte than addressing each of your complaints about how the US works, let me just say that the government spends about 1% of it's annual budget on foreign aid and 12% on its military. About 50% of the budget goes towards social prorams to help US citizens. There are scholarships, granst, loans to help people who want to go to college if they can't pay and not every college costs $80K. Health insurance pays healthcare costs so if I take a 2K ambulance ride I pay nothing. It costs next to nothing for doctor's visits or prescriptions so perhaps you are the one who needs to do research before acting before actting how things work in another country and putting it down.

Where are you from? If you have a good credit score or are just starting to build your credit here it is easy to get credit cards with credit limits way above what you can afford to pay back. back when I was in college and not even working I got all kinds of offers from credit card companies - preapproved and I had no income at all! Credit card companies charge over 20% interest so they make a fortune even with all the people that default on their credit card debt because it is a tax write off for them. That's why in the US your credit score is extremely important because it can affect your ability to buy a car or a house and maintain credit cards.

maybe you need a financial manager, college is no gaurantee that's you'll make enough money to pay off your student loans. Maybe you need to learn how to better budget or should have went to a cheaper school.

What the video fails to say is whether or not the person had health insurance. I'm guessing they did because, if not, they probably wouldn't have received all that care unless it was a public hopsital which means the care would be free anyways. If she had health insurance then the insurance company would have paid for most everything. I was recently talking to a person on YouTube that lives in Germany and my jaw dropped when they told me citizens pay a 14.8% mandatory tax on their income for healthcare. That's way more than I pay here in the US.

Why are you scared? That is funny to me. We also have debit cards here. Credit scores are a way for lenders to assess a potential borrowers credit worthiness and their payment history in paying back their debt. Doesn't that make sense to you? Why would a bank lend someone 100s of thousands of dollars to buy a house or give them a credit card if their credit score indicates they don't repay debt on time and or don't repay debt at all? Credit scores tell a lot about a person's ability to manage money. if you were a bank, would you loan money to someone whose credit history shows they don't repay debt? The US isn't the only country that utilizes credit scores; it's completely normal to us. Do you not have credit cards in France?

@philomenephilomene7425 Not everybody thinks you have the better system. We also have public schools here and provisions for healthcare for poor people. I don't think it's fair that someone who makes more money than someone else has to pay more for the same healthcare. Someone wouldn't have to pay $20,000 for a surgery if they had health insurance.

Are you saying that everyone in France makes about the same amount of money? The reason incomes for people are different for everybody depends on the type of work they do. People that are highly skilled or highly educated tend to make more money. People that own their own businesses can make more money. Do you expect a heart surgeon to make the same amount of money as someone making hamburgers in a restaurant? America is the land of opportunity so if someone becomes rich beyond other people's wildest dreams then more power to them. They deserve it.

Your comment is a joke. What is the difference between health insurance premiums and mandatory taxes base on your income in countries with universal healthcare? Credit card compaines don't force people to charge more than they can pay back but some people use them as a way to make to pay day without overspedning and you see that as a bad thing? No one forces anyone to get a credit card.

Do you know how much universal healthcare costs citizens in those countries with it? I do and I'm not a fan of it at all because the higher paid people have to pay more for the same care, not fair to me.

@AuntieMamies I live in the US and pay $250 per month for health insurance which pays for my healthcare expenses. I'm totally fine with that, much better than mandatory taxes based on income
