@wendymartin8269 I've been fortunate but I have worked my butt off to have everything I do. How many of these people are there because of their own poor decisions in life or drug usage, etc.? What have they done to not be homeless anymore? Why is there not one friend or family member that will let them stay with them while they get back on their feet? Inquiring minds want to know.

@wendymartin8269 People have to save and plan for retirement, not doing so is foolish. Veterans are eligible for VA benefits if they have disabilities or anything related to their service. Veterans are also practically guaranteed government jobs if they apply for them. Lot of people on the streets are drug addicts and alcoholics; I live with a city with lots of homeless and these definitely aren't the working homeless like people such as yourself believe. Crushing hospital bills - just don't pay it, you won't go to jail or people can file bankruptcy so that is certainly not a reason for someone to become homeless. I have empathy for people who deserve it. Have a nice life yourself.

@views-kb6sv I never said ALL homeless are there because of their owen poor decisions but I would bet a large majority of them are.
