  7. Nice how David conflates all taxes with income tax. No one minds paying voluntary tax. Such as a toll to use a road, or a fee to access a farmers' market, or gas tax to maintain the roads. HOW do we know? Because they volunteer to pay. They may not like it, but they don't mind doing it - because they do it freely. Income tax, of which we NEVER HAD until 1913 when the US Constitution was amended by a bunch of Banker bought crooks and sold off as Social Progress to the cattle-class is completely different. The State FORCES you to pay. That's how we know you do NOT want it. Because they hold a gun to your head.   16. RizenLink What are you going on about? Maybe you need to re-read my OP. Yes, Koch Industries receives State tax credits (on taxes they pay). How is that stealing from the bottom 99%? It's not, THEY pay the tax. Having it returned is not stealing. In actuality, it's the State that takes tax (by force) and when Koch Industries attempts to have some of it returned to them (by donating to political nominees) they are NOT stealing their own money back. Given THEY PAID the tax, it only seems reasonable THEY should have it returned back to them. Only a Progressive Orwellian Twat would characterize the person trying to have their stolen money (that was taken by force) returned to them as 'stealing' from the 99%. Now, if you have evidence of Koch Industries - feel free to post it, hell, you can take your 'evidence' to the police and have them prosecuted. But, we both know you do not have any evidence. All you have is Progressive demagoguery.  The real thief is the State. The State sells bonds on unborn children (30 year T-bonds as an example) and STEALS their future labor through inflation, regulation and income/labor tax. You worry about the Koch Brothers while the States just stole $5 trillion to pay for made up phony wars and another $5 trillion to bail out their Central Bank.   17. anthony alexander Actually, the Democrats were historically a party of racists and were war mongers. Many Republicans are now.  Minimum wage was specifically to prevent blacks from competing with whites by doing the one thing they could do to get work experience - work for less. Much like the Chinese of today, blacks of the early 1900s were out-competing whites on labor price hours and getting rich doing so. White democrats put a stop to that.

Anyway, I stand by my opinion, not today, nor tomorrow, but in the coming decades Sweden will have all of the same problems as the USA (in terms of ghettos and a permanent underclass) only worse. At least in the USA everyone, generally shares the same values. Unlike accepting an Afghan refugee is allowed to legally live with his child-bride (as is currently happening right now in Malmö), most Americans would find this to be despicable and would not accept it just because some Progressive Socialist said we have to be tolerant of other's beliefs. As for in Japan, there is no concept of multiculturalism, it simply doesn't exist and would never be accepted by the Japanese people. Thankfully.

DeWellstein "Done for" means that Swedish society, which developed across 10s of thousands of years, will be replaced with a society with all of the problems of the USA and almost none of the gains. Thus, Swedish cities will come to have large Welfare Ghettos populated by people resentful of the very people who supposedly helped them, the schools will by necessity drop in standards and rape and crime will be normalized to. And that's just the start, say, across 50 years.

Merv van der Swerv Actually let me explain why it is you that have no idea 1) they've been saying that for over 3, going on 4, decades 2) guess what? with less workers the wages are going up, per hour, naturally, 3) every single year the standard of living increases in Japan, while the GDP drops a little there are less people who are more productive so pp there is more wealth, 4) housing becomes more affordable and it's even possible to own a second home away from the city for weekend family vacations. In short life is better than ever. The problem with the West is the came to trust their so called experts and politicians. Progressivism and multiculturalism have been shown to decrease social cohesion and trust while promoting inequality. Sweden, ironically, was very much like Japan. Lastly, Ethnic Germans (Swedish are a few years behind but expected to catch-up) between the ages of 18-33 are expected to be a minority by 2020. Ethnic Germans will become of a minority in Germany. That's the stated goal of the Progressive Socialists who Germans continue to overwhelmingly support. Societies are defined by their ethnicities. Lastly I've lived in 5 countires and worked in more. I'll stand by my opinion. I do agree that Europeans are somewhat different from Americans. I think of Europeans as being more cuckold I suppose. They're so worried about being called a name. Americans too, but not as much. That problem doesn't exist for Asians. I don't think it's pessimistic to think accepting millions of people from a third world nation with low IQ and backwards bronze ages beliefs is idiotic to the point of absurdity. Not to mention these people will be bringing over their cousin brides (cousin marriage is extremely common in the ME) and thier extended family - most of whom lack the ability to read and write in their own language. Meanwhile tax paying Germans and Swedish will be footing the bills. It's just insanity. Oh well, Sweden can be a case study in Pathological Empathy for future societies to study as to what to never do.

  34. DeWellstein I agree a limited very low immigration of skilled workers (high IQ for example) and spouses is preferable to no immigration. As for integration, England has entire towns where people barely speak English and want sharia courts. Not exactly integrating per say. And not exactly converting either. The ONLY peaceful solution to the problem will be a 100% end to the Welfare State. This is the only way to encourage integration through economica or willing emigration.

What I gave was my opinion, based on my life experiences, my reading of history and the data I've read regarding demographic changes occurring in Europe. Europe is done for as what it was. That Europe is now gone. The way forward is unknown, but I believe this experiment will result in a society with the same problems as all other countries with large Muslim populations. Someone mentioned Japan's low birth rate - while I don't see this as a problem, or should be noted ethnic Germans have a lower birthrate. Demographics determine society. Lastly, no one alive lived in ancient Rome, that doesn't preclude one from having am opinion. Often an outside view is able to clearly see the reality of the situation. I stand by my opinion. We'll let the future decide one way or the other. Thank the Gods Japan has nearly no refugees. It's safe, prosperous and unified.

The notion of Britons being minorities in their own cities in unheard of in E. Asian. For Asians, this is insane. Utterly insane. As for ending Welfare. And as a Londoner you know full well white flight is occurring in areas within London. This is a demographic fact. Thus, the question is why? The difference I was clearly illustrating is Tokyo is homogenous. I've been to London, there are areas around the city, in Muslim burroughs, you'd likely be harmed if walking alone at night. These areas characterize almost all major Western. They do not characterize major Asian cities. There is no area in Japan you would be unsafe walking in at night alone. These areas do not exist. At all. The very notion police are loath to enter areas of Western cities is unbelievable to Asians. Malmö being one such example. And I seriously doubt most, if any, Western cities will have the opportunity of London. Lastly, opportunities exist in Japanese cities without the ghettos. Which one would think would be preferable. Sweden was similar. Not now. Nor will it ever be. Which was my OP. That Sweden is done for.

Zero ghettos. While no one knows the future. It's highly unlikely to happen because Japanese do not want mass immigration. Sensible immigration is fine. A small amount of highly skilled people that have time to assimilate or leave. This was the norm in the West until recently. Lastly, I personally believe we are witnessing the decline of the West. Probably to be replaced by the East. I personally find this somewhat saddening. The West, primarily through Greco-Roman legacy, truly changed the world. The enlightenment is unparalleled in history. To disregard this legacy, butcher it - is worse than pathetic. Some ideas are indeed better than others, too bad the West went off the rails somewhere along the line as evidenced by the mantra of cultural relativity. Another concept utterly imbecile and unthinkable in the East. Think of the East as where the West was when ascending through the period of enlightenment. The West on the other hand is literally importing it's own destruction. Which, we will watch occur across this century. As Sweden will, in the coming decades (no not tomorrow, demographics take time to play out) will prove.

Sweden of 20 years ago was a place where rape and murder was nearly unheard of. Literally, Stockholm had 1 murder in 5 years in the mid 80s. Japan grew to a population of 120 million and has maintained similar homicide rates for the last 50 years. Since Sweden has embarked on a mission to destroy their culture and ethnicity via multicultural suicide, they have seen a significant rise in both rape and murder. So, let's see where they are at in 5 and 10 years. Let's see if my prediction comes true. They end up with dangerous ghettos where ethnic Sweden will not be safe to enter - particularly in the evening. It's for Private regulating companies with as little Government in the way to reduce regulatory capture and rent-seeking. Jeremy Einbinder I understand what you're saying, but here's the thing, everyone (including the evil rich) want to live in a 'Progressive' society (with the exception of some religious fundamentalists). The political elite, who are in government, actually understand that this is never going to be made possible through government and can only come about through voluntary (private) interaction.   So, my advice is to wait around another 4 - 10 elections cycles, witness no change (and you will believe in it) and then if you're still alive, vote Libertarian.

In Politik als Beruf by Max Weber (1919): A single entity, the State, exercises monopoly on legitimate violence over a given geographical territory (territory is deemed to be also characteristic of a State). Importantly, such a monopoly must occur via a process of legitimation, wherein a claim is laid to legitimise the state's use of violence. Thus, the State is the source of legitimacy for any use of violence. The police and the military are its main instruments, but this does not mean that only public force can be used: private force (as in private security) can be used too, as long as it has legitimacy derived from the State. I'll give you an example of the State's use of violence - that man who was strangled to death for selling a 0.50 cent cigarette. ONLY the Government can legally exercise such violence. The State is the antitheses to civilization. It's a return to the jungle. The Drug War is another example of the State's use of violence against morally innocent adults.  The Income Tax (tax on labor) is another example of the State's use of violence against morally innocent adults.  It doesn't matter if the State we're talking about is the USA or North Korea or KSA, ALL State's are by definition immoral as they, and ONLY they, can initiate legal violence against innocent humans within their geographical constrained area of control.  Private people can not initiate violence against anyone. Private people can only use violence in defence.  I'll give another example: lets say we agree that procreation is something most people (society) would agree is 'good'. The Private means of procreation is to voluntarily agree to sex and thus a life is initiated. The State on the other hand would instead identify procreation as something needed and then set about using rape to meet this end.  That's the difference. Anyway, you needn't worry. We're getting much more State. And we'll get more Police needed to enforce the State's immorality. Thus, we'll end up living in a Progressive Police State were violence is used against all of us 'for the good of society'. We'll of course have to lose our right to privacy (see the State's spy agency the NSA) as this is also needed to make our Police State more efficient at using violence against us. You'll see.
