This is miles better than what thousands of Hong Kongers live in. You don’t realise what you have until you don’t have it.

It's better, that's what counts.

Doesn't any average apartment flat weigh about the same, or even drastically more than that?

@mylamberfeeties875 Well we shall see for ourselves if what you say is true.

@mylamberfeeties875 What kind of "poison" causes...depression of all things? Highly curious. And how did this "poison" manage to find itself inside the STEEL (toxic steel???) used to make shipping containers? These containers clearly aren't made of plastic, that's for sure. Rust? I'm no architect or engineer, but I'm pretty sure the entire structure is pretty much made of solid concrete, which also cases the containers ( 1:00 ). The only steel parts should be the containers themselves and the supports.

@mylamberfeeties875 I have Googled it and have not seen any connection between steel and depression or chemicals (excluding natural brain chemicals, which is merely a theory) and depression at all. Furthermore, I don't understand why would anyone (from a financial standpoint) put toxic chemicals in steel, which would've probably been completely incinerated into a gas during the blast furnace process anyways. Why don't you just point me as to exactly where you got this information? Would make it much easier for the both of us.

Well seeing as how 30 units a day can be installed in one apartment, I'd say it will be substantially cheaper.

@ernestkj Probably because this is a relatively new idea. Not all businessmen are selfish either. I'm sure when houses like these are standardized, the prices will be somewhat "affordable" for what you get. We will just have to wait and see where this concept goes.

Same way as any other apartment I suppose. Probably some modifications done to the shipping containers as well. Hong Kong doesn't really have any large life threatening natural disasters, let alone enough force to topple an apartment complex.

I think the large platforms in the middle at 1:02 are where the elevators will be.

Earthquakes (a little more than a tremor) and hurricanes (typhoons) are pretty much harmless in Hong Kong when compared to those in other areas.

Yep, they'll be installed alright.
