How about strapping bombs to the rioter’s chests as well? I don’t see any difference between these rioters and the terrorists in the Middle East.

The word you’re looking for is: “Ignorant”.

Dark of the knight As if the CCP (or HK government) would spend its time and efforts to “mysteriously” push insignificant civilians off buildings or “mysteriously” devise car crashes so that those who oppose them can have another excuse to trash talk about China. I hope there won’t be any more of these “mysterious” incidents either. I also find it amusing how you think the world will go to war over Hong Kong, a small piece of territory that is none of its business. I’m sorry to burst your bubbles, but this ain’t the 1940s anymore. The world can’t just pick up their arms and go to war over something that doest even concern them. Times have changed. Besides, China has nukes. Only an idiot would go to war with a country that has nuclear capabilities. No matter how advanced or numerous your guns, tanks, planes, or ships are. Nothing can stop a nuke.

Gandhi’s movement was peaceful (from what I’ve heard, correct me if I’m wrong). This movement is FAR from “peaceful”.

Why should you care as a Chinese citizen? Honestly...

SCMP is just trying to stay neutral. Not trying to defend the rioters, just saying that the media cannot please everybody.

Tastytoast Why don’t the Hong Kong rioters move to the Middle East, to countries like Libya, if they love democracy so much? I love how you act as if China is the only country that has surveillance on their own people. I also love how you act as if “questioning the CCP” is a basic necessity for the average Chinese citizen, people have more important matters to attend to.

Tastytoast There are private social media platforms in China that criticise the government, they’re fine. Protests that are permitted by the government in China are still available. And the Hong Kong people are also fine. It is only those that have intentions to bring the Chinese government down end up dead.

@Henry There is universal suffrage, and there is law and order.

Takoonye Doesn’t matter who is the “minority”. At the end of the day, the protestors and rioters are all on the same side, and both parties should expect the consequences of their actions.

Lennox Who says you can decide?
