  1. Heroes? What exactly are they doing that gives them that title? Disrupting public transport? Occupying and completely trashing malls? Vandalising pretty much anything and everything that is against their views? All in the name of “freedom”? Look up the definition of a terrorist and you’ll find many similarities that the protestors share.

  2. So you think the bloody police are just going to rebel against their own country just because the supposed masses are doing it? You expect the police to make friends with the rioters? Perhaps you simply expect the police to just stand there and watch? My friend, that would be incompetent and unprofessional. Badly treated its citizens? Threatened civilian lives? What, you expect them to give them a pat on the back and a hug after the rioters literally catapulted bricks and intentionally tried to blind them with laser pointers? If this happened in America, I guarantee you hundreds of police and protestors alike would’ve been shot dead, thanks to the Second Amendment. Yet in Hong Kong, not ONE civilian death has happened over the past 3 months, how about you check out what other countries’ police are doing first before criticising the HK police force so harshly. Sure, I agree with the protestors that the police should’ve done more at Yuen Long, those white-shirted gangsters should’ve been arrested and they should’ve done a thorough investigation. But from the police’s point of view, if they DID mean to let the gangsters beat up the protestors, can you really blame them? At the end of the day, the rioters are no better than the white shirts, they are in no position to beg the police to help them. “The above act is because the protestors are protecting themselves.” Protecting themselves? I guess attempting to block and possibly completely trash (it has happened before, check out what they did to some random dude’s van which also happened to be his only source of income) a police vehicle is “protecting themselves”. I live in Hong Kong, I am a Hong Kong citizen. I’m the one who should hope people like you can fully understand what’s going on here. Come to Hong Kong sometime and maybe you can look at the situation from both sides instead of staring at a screen and looking at one side.

  4. Violent protests (aka riots) aren’t gonna achieve anything either. You think that by trashing your own city, you can control the government? You think foreign countries actually care about Hong Kong? It’s one thing to be heroic, it’s another thing to be stupid and think you can win. Hong Kong has had this coming since 1997, they knew that China would take over in 50 years. You expect Hong Kong to be converted to the Mainland overnight? Of course the Mainland is going to have to exert control little by little in order for Hong Kong to adapt. No matter what you say, Hong Kong WILL be integrated into the Mainland whether you like it or not, rioting won’t stall the inevitable, heck it’s probably gonna make the integration back to the Mainland sooner. Unless you’ve got an army capable of overthrowing the CCP with only minor casualties on your side, Hong Kong is finished.

Or perhaps you believe the CCP to be preparing their tanks to run over civilians yet again? You think the Chinese government is going to throw a party after they massacre their own civilians for their own pleasure? You’ve obviously been brainwashed, I’m not even going to try to argue with you. Thank God people like you aren’t in charge in the Chinese government. You could at least try to provide some fabricated evidence to go along with your ridiculous assumption.

  6. Mediocre Chun Just because the government controls its share of the media doesn’t mean that ALL social media is government controlled. Almost anyone can become a journalist nowadays, heck even the Chinese government can’t do anything about it. Look on the Chinese side of the internet, it’s there. Sure, the celebrities being patriotic and nationalistic COULD’VE been paid by the government or something, but you can’t claim that as a fact without some solid evidence, you can’t just rule out the possibility that these people might just be super patriotic towards their own country (or just want to jump on the bandwagon to increase their popularity) just because the Chinese government has its reputation, otherwise it’s just an assumption. Just saying.
