A harsh start for such a seemingly strong and stable young man, high expectations!! 😲 Having John as a grandfather would have been a large burden! 😒 He was lucky to have a stable home and friend in his wife! It is not surprising seeing this, that Edward became a constant warrior, it was his training and destiny and the threats never ceased! Difficult, and different times, lucky for Prince William he is not required to put on armour and sword for his father! He was certainly a real Plantagenet emotionally, but with a stronger military knowledge and more disciplined mind! A shame about the Welsh, bad precedent, but his building projects were extraordinary! Wealth taxes, I recommend that! 😁 An effective Parliament and Court system!! War is expensive (😂) at least he kept his wives happy! They asked a known viper to arbitrate on Scottish royal decisions!? 😮🧐❌

  6. Extraordinary, I certainly side with the Scots, but there is always much more to every man's story than most people consider! Genes, upbringing, financial circumstances, prevailing political environment, loyalties, diplomacy, expectations, advisors, moods, etc! He was a product of his times, who was very successful from an English point of view, and that he also had a stable married life is a further credit to his strength, commitment and intelligence! A great personal legacy! 👍 Very unfortunate he didn't listen to the nobles complaints about the expense, and carried on pursuing the subjication of the Scots! 😭👎
