I was born and raised in Tasmania, my family sold their generations old farms after the fruit export industry collapsed, we moved to the city and then to Sydney for work! The Tasmanian economy relies on tourism, farming and mostly small businesses therefore the economy can be unstable! If it wasn't for the care the community's take with their natural resources and history, and the loveing friendly environment, Tasmania could be another tragedy, but it isn't! Australia puts people first and we take care of each other and our neighbours! These Ghost Towns rarely happen in other countries (perhaps Siberia) this is not normal, USA! Wake up! 😡

Yes, inner New South Wales has the same geography as Texas but our towns are not left to die, we still care! The only reason an Australian town would struggle is rising goods transport cost and the closing of coal mines but we will survive overall!

If you stay away from the Northern Territory and North Queensland, there should be an issue! Most of Australia is open and friendly! 🤔

@willpugh-calotte2199 Yes, Newcastle has really turned itself around now, so Australian! Wollongong is also a very successful reborn town! Launceston too lost its industries, but it's now a massive outdoor activities tourism draw! 🤗👍

@karlosss20 I have never heard of any in Australia, and I live here and have family in other states! What is he talking about? There are a few rural towns making way for wind farms, but they were not abandoned because of poverty or crime! Does he mean the Aboriginal lands in Northern Australia, the police appear to have no power over undisciplined youth crime, but that's community issues! Very misleading and reckless comment, we do not have American unfair taxes or gun crimes or Unemployment ghost towns! 😠🇦🇺
