Thanks for asking our opinion re accuracy of these statements, as they say a little drama adds some spice!! Obviously, as in all countries, towns and cities they are some unavoidable fluctuations in the economy like natural disasters! The costs of homes depends on the prevailing market, the cost of food depends on supply, the cost of imports depends on tariffs and taxes (and supply), etc. Homes are built with high standards and currently are also eco friendly. Australia has a skin cancer problem but also huge campaigns and products to protect and educate children/parents about sun awareness. Most animals only bite if they feel threatened. A 'train' trip from the east to the west is certainly not boring, it can be an adventure, or a very relaxing break! Many supermarkets are open late and a few department stores and cafes - this depends of available workers, cost of overtime wages and running costs, demand!! No his statements were not entirely accurate, and there may be even be differences between suburbs too as well as large towns. Restaurants and hotels, for instance, don't charge tips! Fresh food is always cheaper and readily available, especially in Tasmania and NSW. ... Etc..
