Arnott's were a family company, I did a babysitting job at a workmates house and there was an Arnott's family tree in the baby's room - with the famous Macaw Parrot in the centre top! 😂 William Arnott was the founder in 1865, a Scottish immigrant to Australia! Arnott's biscuits have always been popular here! Scotch Fingers! 😋👍 I'm not sure about working there, I spent a few hours at the Cadbury's factory in Hobart, and ended up feeling pretty sick from the chocolate smell! 🙁 Good company policy, reliability! 🤗

Sounds familiar I had a temporary office job at SC Johnson, "a Family Company" (then), and even I was allowed to purchase seconds - although the smell was sickening! It was really difficult to balance the chemical smells with the pristine bush environment it was located, I don't buy their products at all anymore! 🤨😏

@johnd8892 Arnott came to Australia to seek gold, but as he was a baker, he had soon established a bakery instead in 1847, then they moved to Newcastle, NSW in 1865 because of the shipping access, Arnotts became the largest provider of biscuits in Australia, Australian owned and run! His sons took over the company after him! Obviously it was taken over, but the standards remain!
