@maxstirner6143 these people have vested interests in keeping the job. Take the bet I took 40 years ago with my brother in law. A 200 buck bet to not smoke. As far as I know he hasn't smoked a cigarette but has a cigar. He was also the chairman of imperial tobacco /imperial brands. 4 million pounds salary to peddle cigarettes and last year sold the cigar branch for a billion pounds sterling. The establishment will do anything to keep the cushy job no matter what damage they collaterally do to others.
