@stevemumbling7720 oh christ. I've just reread the plot of the nevil Shute books plot on Wikipedia. The war started in Albania and Italy.... Just a few miles from Greece. The way life is imitating art these days the 1957 novel could be reclassified as non fiction.

@stevemumbling7720 yup for money and no for the hairy women but definitely worth the sea and no box jelly fish or salt water crocs or great whites. The economy will survive because people are addicted to Greece and its tourism will never die. They probably won't develop a space industry but they're making an absolute killing in the oil smuggling and the shipping

@stevemumbling7720 it really makes you wonder. At what point do you think the actual people pressing the button decide wether it's masada or survivable. The whole bay of pigs came down to the Russian captain of the submarine charged with the execution of the launch that in the event of no further signals was expected to launch a nuke on the usa from the Atlantic. He took the decision not to... Obviously... But not a lot of people know that.
