  20. I can testify. I was a soldier in the 70s South Africa. I didnt volunteer. We had compulsory conscription. If it wasn't for people like me who resisted and realised that the system was broken and voted with our feet and left the place.theyd still have apartheid there. Make no mistake us consciousness objectors made a difference. We gave one man one vote. The country was a nuclearpower at the time. If I'd employed ALL my efforts of physical and mental abilities i could have been a very very bad person . I was a coward and ran.self preservation However I couldn't run very far.
