  1. I remember camping in south Africa where it rained for a week. The water ran underneath the tent. Fortunately I had painted the whole thing with parrafin wax. I was safe and dry. But it was a heavy bugger to carry. But I have made it to 64 and now use 2 tarps. One on the floor like a paddling pool..... In reverse. The other like a roof. 6 inch gap all around. This gives the breathable aspect to dry out underneath as you get wetted from the humidity. Plus I can use my charcoal grill to dry the wet stuff. I have made a simple chimney starter type grill. Totally efficient way to use charcoal. Which is not too heavy for carry. I pick it up on 3 stones for max heat and flat on the ground for simmering.
