You forgot that in Germany were two factors fueling the Anti-Nuclear movement: Nuclear Waste Disposal and Chernobyl. Parts of Germany were affected by Chernobyl you can even find small amounts of radiation to this day in the woods in Bavaria. And the Nuclear Waste storage and transport worried people noone wants this stuff close.

You know most people's homes in Germany are heated with Natural Gas. You cannot just switch this to electricity easily or instantly. And electricity is expensive Natural Gas was cheap compared to this and could be stored long term to last a winter.

You realize that Nuclear Energy needs huge amounts of water for cooling do you?

@Cau_No I've seen a documentation of public german regional television recently saying you still can prove it in some parts which is above the usual. And why not? Strontium and Caesium have a half-life of 30 years meaning just over a half disappeared since Chernobyl Plutonium even 24,000 years.

The Irony is: Nuclear Fuel is made out of Uranium. Russia controls 80% of this market.

You sounds like a NGO Funded ThinkTanker (aka Lobbyist).

1) Germany had no LNG Power Plants. The L stands for Liquid. Gas Pipes transport Gas not Liquid. 2) Germany: 15.2% of all electricity is made by Natural Gas in 2021. 3) Germany: 40% power by renewables in 2021 (233,6 billion kWh). How big is yours? What did you say about "objective discussion"?

@11385djg Apparently you not really read my post: Did you noticed the part about 233 billion kWH from Renewable Energy? Germany is doing it's best to get away from it and whatever coal, natgas or nuclear is doing it's just temporary and no long term solution. How much renewable energy does your country produce?
1
@11385djg NatGas is still just meant temporary solution because it creates less CO2 than Coal and Oil and the gas is also intended to be used for making Blue Hydrogen until Green Hydrogen can be widly established.
1
@11385djg And you not realize Germans end nuclear power in favor of renewables not in favor of coal or natgas. The latter two are temporary until the problem with Russia is solved and the renewable moved forward. Germany has 40% renewable energy already with a whopping 233 billion kWh. And Germany is heavily invested in Fusion too which will make all other obsolete except perhaps renewable.
