  3. As individual nation states European Nations have almost no leverage or influence on the international stage like America, China, Russia. This is one reason why the EU exists united to the outside diverse to the inside. And a lot of especially smaller nations don't want to be on their own again. Imagine baltic countries having to be alone against Russia. Or having to negotiate against giants like America or going against large international companies.

  6. I disagree about this assessment. The EU and America are allies but the EU is largely doing it's own thing. In fact the EU was founded also to have some leverage against giants like America, China, Russia because the individual countries have not enough influence alone. United to the outside, diverse to the inside is the slogan.

  7. Why is it so damn hard to get rid of him? Is it really all a media issue? Or perhaps a generational issue? Or has Orban rigged Hungary already so much that it's electorally impossible (= End of Democracy)?

  8. Orbans plans are pointless. EU presidency has almost no power attached the real power remains in the EU Parliament and EU Council. It is a representative role. And his role ends in December 2024 anyway. Poland is next and Tusk is different. Italy's is not before Jan 2028.

  9. Not kicked out, but some rights and powers taken away for example veto rights or the right to have EU presidency during the rotation, reduced access to development funding and budget decissions. If Hungary wants to leave there is a process for this but it has to be their decission.

  12. Not the people of Hungary. They actually like the EU and the economic boom and development it brought it's just sad that more could have been done without the corruption and waste of Orban. And Brexit is a good example that it is not a smart idea.
