  1. Noone who is in a cult will ever admit of being in a cult. You are in a cult when you cannot call out the cult leader anymore. When you think the cult leader can do no wrong, is never wrong, is never failing and when you are willing to risk your own safety to defend him unconditionally.

  2. I think most people with family like that just try to avoid politics because they know it doesn't end well and they don't want to damage relations more than they already are. But it's not normal and it doesn't feel right. There is always this strange feeling of walking like on eggshells with them. It destroys relations over time. You cannot talk about everything anymore, so you talk less and less and less. Then you visit them less. And one day you even try to avoid to visit them. It's really sad what misinformations doing to family, partners, friends, workmates, community and society.

  3. The way to get someone out of a cult is doubt. Which is why all cults suppress doubt extremly. Don't try to argue you have no chance because these people not using reason but emotions. You can emotionally appeal to them and reach them but not on logic. Seed doubt. Show people contradictions you discovered for yourself. Tell them why you think the things as you do. And explain them how you got there. But don't argue or try to convince them they would see this as a manipulation attempt. Just make them listen about yourself but they have to make the steps themselves.
