Not really it was not Gaetz' laywer. And lawyers lose their license when doing this to their own client. But I was astonished he said anything at all.

Gaetz is playing the victim here on a crime which has nothing to do with the actually crime. The fact that the extortion had such a high value is almost an indicator that there is something to this story. And he is trying to make the legal case void upfront. The FBI cannot release evidence by law while the investigation is running. His lawyer might be able to make a case later on procedure to release him from any charges if they would do it. It's almost obstruction of justice ... add this to his list. And last but not least the fact that he wanted a pardon from Trump is an indicator that something in there. Only guilty people need pardons.

@dutchgala826 I doubt it. It is not to his clients disadvantage. Besides if you listen to the words: He only talked about Gaetz not confirming that his client made a deal. People infer it, but he was not saying it.
