  1. Another distraction to distract from the disastrous U-turn / hindsight governing by the Johnson government and the extreme failings of Johnson on PMQ's last week. Maybe even something is up for next week. Next week is another round of EU trade deal negotiations. The 2nd last chance before the dealine in October. No results are expected from the talks and the Johnson government desperatly needs to divert attention from that. On top of that the Furlough Scheme will be on the agenda next week and the intention of the government to let it run out. It will be even more damaging to Johnson than the Corona-handling and I bet UK's Corona numbers are also on the rise again, why should UK be an exception to the rest of Europe. So yes, Johnson desperatly needs a distraction from those topics and what better way to make immigration a topic again (it's the 3rd time it was used to divert attention from bad government decissions in the last weeks).
