To avoid having complex visas requirement the EU would legally able to have for each country in the EU you pass through they offered a simpler solution: You can stay in the EU for 90 days within 6 months. But how can you check that if you not check-in or check-out at EU borders properly? The UK might not be willing to control their border, but the EU sure does.

If the French government really wanted that they would not fill all available passport booths but instead just one. They are allowed to do that, in fact America did that on their airports. One for the foreigners 9 for domestic.

You realize that the fishermen in the UK do not want more fish, they want to be able to sell it as easily as before ... but the UK erected a border by leaving the Single Market.

@stocko5448 Come on connect the dots. Why would you want to remove licenses from French Fishermen other than getting more fish ... more fish you cannot sell anymore.

@stocko5448 I am not sure what your problem is: I would like to see the fishermen in all countries have a decent and fair income from their work and if possible not killing the seas by overfishing because this would end all income. But erecting obstacles which either reduce the amount of fish you can catch or make selling more costly or impossible giving you a market disadvantage is not helping.

@stocko5448 All French? For all time? Or just french fishermen? Don't you think French fishermen dealing with the similar survival issues than british? Maybe without the problems Brexit brought up.

@stocko5448 The people who try to reach Britain will try to reach Britain no matter what. Maybe because they have relatives or because they speak the language (but not French). They will have their reasons. And you want the French to put them in prison for trying to reach Britain so they try to apply for citizenship so they can legally work and start a new life, paying taxes, grow their children? And do you really think your life will get any better by removing former or current immigants? You watch the Tories how they betray the british tax payer by billions, how they party while you suffer, how they prevent taxing the people who have the money and instead tax the people who already not have enoug? And you think getting rid of immigrants will make anything better for you?

@stocko5448 They don't want to be hold in Hotels like in a prison forbidden to work, forbidden to start an existence only because the UK government take 5 years to process their asylum application ... not 3 months like it is in other countries. And other countries allow asylum seeker to work for their living while the UK immediatly makes them illegal if they do that. And the reason why they are in hotels is because the UK government privatized the housing for asylum seekers during Covid so some poor Tory donors who have Hotels but no Tourists have income. Other countries have dedicated facilities where asylum seekers can live until they earn enough money to pay for living themselves. But in the UK they can't they are forced to live in the Hotel which is assigned to them. They are forbidden to work, they are forbidden to look for housing until their application is processed. About what are you more angry, that they are live in a hotel. That they are housed there for free even if it is more or less a prison for them? That the government is forced to help them financially but not you? That the government is wasting money because they no build facilities for this or just process applications quicker so that they can work and pay for their living? Do you really think that even if they put asylum seekers into prisons while they waiting for the government to decide that your life somehow would get better by THIS government? I am sorry that you have some problems that you don't like what Britain has become, but if you want to see improvements you need to look up not down or to the side.
