  1. Get rid of Putin, get rid of thieves on your resources, establish a real democracy and Germany will be willing to open North Steam 1 and also 2 again. And if all goes well a trade deal, an EU cooperation agreement and who knows maybe even EU membership one day.

  2. Make sense Canada and Germany in the EU trade a little more. There is already a Trade-Deal which can be build upon not only to Germany but other EU members as well. And I bet the conditions might be even a little more two-sided than NAFTA. In any case it makes sense that the money is flowing between western democratic nations and not flow out into autocracies funding the next war with it and underpricing our way of life. And I bet Germany has a lot of offer in return for a couple resources not just cars but also some sofisticated machinery to make manufacturing in Canada more interesting again.

  3. Heating of homes cannot be quickly replaced with electricity. That why at least temporary Europe need to buy LNG to offset Putins 41%.

  4. Natural Gas was always a temporary energy source because it's "cleaner" (less CO2) than burning coal and can be used to make blue hydrogen. Both are designed to cut emission short-term and move to infinity energy and Green Hydrogen in the long run.

  7. You realize that Mr. Scholz is from the political left? His party is called the Social-Democratic Party. So him asking for some LNG for 2024+ is not really "making it impossible".
