  2. It was not really an election. Xi gotten rid of all potential oppossition and rivals. The very last one just at the beginning of the last days conference. And no it was not because of "health issues" Hu shown signs of resistence to leaving the chamber, the person escorting him out was Xi's bodyguard not Hu's own and in any case if there were health issues Hu would not even have sit down in the first place. In addition to that this excuse with the "health issues" was only reported to foreign media not domestically. Well at least not right away until they saw the need for some explanations which does not look like a political coup.
