  2. No not immediatly. But if there is the slightest belief this may be true, and it may really be true we just can't prove it, it might lead some to change their disposition against other life. Maybe someone decide not to hurt someone or even worse, just in case it is true or help someone in need instead of ignoring him/her this would all be an improvement to before. And more is always possible. That fact that you outright recognized the Golden Rule in there is already a step up. Not everyone in the comments see's that or know's what it is or often just heared the well known sentence for that. But just sticking to the story "he/she/it is another me ... maybe I should treat him/her/it with a little more respect" would already encourage them to apply the Golden Rule without them knowing about it. And it goes from there because the Golden Rule is just the beginning. This story is really only a Nutshell (pun intendend) for a much more complex thing. Accessible, easy to understand and entertaining. If you read papers and books on the concepts you would probably just bore everyone they would never want to see this. With this story ... there is a start.

  6. At least treat them better and with more respect. No bullying, no violence and no killing. More is possible of course e.g. helping, friendship, loving, and so on but even a small step further would be an improvement and make living/existence for you and others better. EDIT: I would even place "no lying" somewhere in that list because it causes more and more problems because media and technology makes it more and more easier to lie and manipulate.

  9. You don't need a god for that and it may even be better not rely on one because things turn strange when bad things happening to you. It also makes you more receptive to manipulation by people pretending to be speaking in gods name. Imagine youself being god and you may very well be ... watch "The Egg" from Kurzgesagt.

  12. I think this is actually the point of this video. Not to make it harder on ourselves then necessary and find out why some civilizations self-destructed at some point without being conquered or damaged by nature. And not being too worried because usually humanity somehow survives.

  13. At least it's seawater, which we have little more of on this planet and there are Ice Asteroids in the solar system and on Ice on Mars. So if it works, it could probably universally solve some energy problems for the forseeable future. And if I understand it correctly, it's only the Deuterium in water they need. So they only filter it out? Not sure on this one some clarification would be welcome.

Topics are divided into two teams and you are being forced to pick a side and from then have to show undying devotion to your side even to the point of ignoring everything bad or wrong with your own side and even ignoring foul play from your side.

Ich bin auch manchmal irritiert über die Auto-Übersetzung in Titeln, da ich kein Problem habe das ganze in Englisch zu lesen und zu verstehen.

  17.  @epicheartbreakkshmr6645  Ich bin ziemlich sicher es hat mit meiner voreingestellten Untertitel-Sprache zu tun, sobald jemand Untertitel für ein Video eingibt erkennt YT das und zeigt das an, auch wenn ich Untertitel praktisch immer ausstelle. Mir ist das an den absurdesten Stellen schon passiert, z.B. einem Video über China in Englisch und absolut niemand vom Kanal da spricht Deutsch.

  26. Consider it another view on something science can't get a hold on ... yet. Maybe something beyond String Theory can, maybe we found something with the better telescopes in the next years on the edge of universe. It's entirely on you what you make of it or not. Even Einstein had metaphysical moments. And to be honest it feels a little more comforting than nihilism but with the side-effect that it might improve existence amongst "us" and put more respect on life in general.

  33. The key word is "consciousness". The idea of this is you or better the consciousness of you is here to experience, to learn, to enlarge and enrich itself with every reincarnation a little more to the point of being born (as a god). So if animals are conscious yes it would (it is?) extended to animals. It would even include aliens (remember "it" said "the hole universe is for you") and even artifical life if they had a consciousness of it's own because all consciousness is combined to this god-thing in the video. And regarding simple life-forms: There is an argument I had with another commenter that you could say: Everything which is able to become conscious at some point in it's evolution is included in this model as well. And since simple life can evolve into complex life and maybe even with consciousness as we did every life should be respected and possible protected if possible. However you can go overboard with this rather quickly, e.g. all bacteria should be protected. So I would simplify it to: Try to respect life in any form.

In practive our forces already work together either in the NATO, EU level or even U.N. but you are right, it must be made clear who controls this force and how it can be prevented from turning against the people or misused outside. Well in free democratic societies every force is normally designed in a way that it cannot turn itself against the people it is mandated to protect and follow certain base rules possibly even against political leaders. Normally this is achieved to bind them to the constitution. The last try in 2004 for an European Constitution almost succeeded 2 countries voted against it (from 25) but it almost happend. Looks like we need another try on that now 15 years later. And since we need to reform the political system of the EU as well we should consider doing both together to enter a new stage in the unification of europe where everyone has the feeling to be ruled fair and democratically by a commonly established system, something everyone can and want to live with. Often things on this magnitude are confirmed in referendums so directly by the people not their representatives not in all countries, but it was done by some and suggested for all last time as well and seems generally a good idea, so every citizen have a say in this and noone can say afterwards that it was "decided over my head". The majority of citizens in the EU are not really clear about what and how things happening in Brussel the other EU video shows that even professionals have their problems. And citizens only feel their own country is overruled from somewhere far only to their disadvantage especially since the media loves to emphasize the negative (EU bashing is loved by everyone it's easier to blame) and this must stop. It's there and it cannot go away again without repercutions on peoples everyday lives and the economy as GB is already begin to experiencing right now, so we might as well make it simpler and more transparent and with the vote and blessing of everyone. Kurzgesagt The societies and everydays lifes of EU citizens and the economy is already more progressed towards unification than the political system so it needs an upgrade so that we can continue to grow together. And having a reform of the political system and a EU wide constitution would be a huge next step on this way and may even lay the basis for a unified force as well. With enough trust build in the reformed political system over the years and probably decades who knows, maybe we come to the point where people are willing to go the last step and give up the original nation sovereignty completly for a real unified europe.

  41. Not in the short term no. But just making this story known to more people is a step in the right direction. This story is really only a Nutshell for a deeper and much more complex concept behind it and humanity struggles with this since it had become conscious. Maybe some of the viewers will discover something along their lives and say: "Hold on, this reminds me off a video I have seen." or "Hold on, this matches something I heared about a very long time ago.". And I'm a little reluctant to make my personal insights to this public and I'm neither a very religious or spritiual being denying it because it does not fit some religion or belief nor a radical scientific one denying everything which can't be proven more something in the middle taking ideas from both sides. Somehow I think everyone must find this out on their own there are no shortcuts here without creating issues but having this video available might help people and giving them a place to start.

  44. Thanks for the feedback. Too bad though I thought maybe we could get rid of the environmental sins of the last 100 years with it by completly dissolving the problem into atomic particles. And it's good news, that the water is filtered not "used up" and could therefore be used for other things after it, e.g. desalination or at least returned in to ocean.

  45. What angers me is that your own shortcomings and stupidity making us always learn things the hard way and always in the very last moment. And that we make it harder on us by lying at each other, often not learn from past mistakes and squabble over trivialities instead of dealing with serious issues. And finding ways to fight each other instead of working together.

That's why we talk with others, have kinds and bring them up, go to school, read books, view youtube videos, give speeches and being teachers, write books, make youtube videos, give TED talks and so on. It's the only way of giving information further maybe someone can pick it up and go on from there.

  48. I have no problem with different opinions I have problems with people who evidently repeating lies to me and based their opinions on incomplete or even wrong facts. They not even know the difference between opinions and facts so how can I ever have a fruitful debate with them when they see my facts as opinion?

  49. This video just recounts history and facts. It does not blame nor put an opinion on something if it was good or bad or who did what wrong because this is not the point of this video. The message is: Yes sometimes civilizations go under by internal or external factors ... but humanity was so far resilient and came back.
