Because it makes the lying easier.

He "feels" it. That's the problem. How about knowing?

There is a fact everyone talking about oil should know. Crude Oil is sold to world market prices which the OPEC organization is largely setting. Meaning drilled in the US, Scotland, Norway or Iraq the price is the same. Meaning more drilling in the US does not necessarily lead to lower prices for Americans. However Congress could make laws doing that. For example saying oil in the US cannot be sold for more than x $ or saying US markets have to be served first and for less before selling on the world market or even that selling is only allowed in the US. But Congress will never do that because they grease the politicians with donations to their campaigns not to.

And in any case a pipeline is only a quicker measure of transport. There are still alternatives and pipelines do not create stuff out of thin air.

People keep forgetting the inflation rate down doesn't mean prices go down. It just means they rise slower but the high price from before is still there. Only higher income can offset inflation meaning the price of your work has to go up the same as inflation does.

To be fair he probably just repeated what he heared on Fox and Co. And if you hear it two or three times you probably begin to believe it.

Please people saying "I don't know" or "I havn't made up my mind" is absolutely okay. Even the smartest people can use it without beeing seen as stupid or ignorant. It is better to run with that than making something up.

We need to be a little more careful here. It is not entirely their fault. More and more people these days live from paycheck to paycheck and getting by barely. They not have the time and resources to "research" stuff properly. And if we are honest here most of us don't do that either. We pick information sources who do that for us. And there is the problem trusting the right ones. Those who do tell you the truth even if you may dislike and not trying to manipulate you. And this is what I could blame these people for: Trusting the wrong people and the wrong sources. I only want them to see the truth for themselves so they can make better decissions and not being easily lied to and potentially manipulated. I have no problem with them having a different opinion than me but I have a problem making these opinions based on false or incomplete informations.

@Person-mh6xq "Contempt for the conmen. Compassion for the conned." P.S. I changed "most" you are right. That would be incorrect. However the number is rising. 34% and counting and it is part of the problem.

@RepublicansJugglingLs There is a small problem to your statement. Bussiness Ledgers and balance sheets these companies have to publish in accordance with laws showing that revenue rises quicker than costs meaning they take more than justified.

@RepublicansJugglingLs I thought I said that. Revenue rises quicker than costs meaning more profits even with somewhat higher costs ... but not at the same rate. And much more than before. We call that price-gouging.
