It is so aggravated because this is not about Trump but about the people who defend him. They don't defend Trump they defend themselves and their opinions. Dropping Trump or seeing him for what he is needs admitting you have been tragically wrong about the guy. So wrong that America almost broke. And they are not ready to admit to have been betrayed on this scale.

Any loyalty in Trump is misplaced. Trump would allow you going to prison for him or worse but he will never do the same for you. He is undeserving of loyalty. And he isn't interested in that anyway he wants devotion and obedience not loyalty and friendship.
