The argument is ridiculous. As an asylum applicant or even an illegal immigrant you will try everything to not get into trouble with the authorities because they will deport you. Oh and you cannot seek asylum as a criminal this is one of the things which is checked during the application.

You know that 99% of all immigrants are legal? According to the US Refugee Act of 1980 you don't need to enter the US at ports-of-entry as long as you immediatly to authorities on arrival. And most do to register. Illegal is only who came and not gone to authorities. The real problem is that border facilities have only a capacity of 400,000 people and once the limit is reached they release people to have room for new arrivals. These people are registered but not processed. They are not illegal just waiting for a decission but the system is overwhelmed so they easily get lost. The 3rd problem is. Some of these facilities are private bussiness. They are payed by the government to house these people and of course they want the facility as full as possible. So they opposse building new ones and don't really want a quick processing of asylum claims. Do you see the greed which is creating the problem?

Lots of fearmongering by the GOP there. And it is clear why to fear people into voting them saying "Vote us we deal with them" ... and in the meanwhile proving in Congress they not want to deal with it because it is such a good campaign topic and even seeking to make it worse so you can campaign even better.

To a degree I can understand people who dislike immigrants. They are new, you don't know them and you are being told a lot of misinformations about them in order to make you vote a certain party. You want order and control it right? Well than vote people who actually want to fix it. As the GOP and Trump have proven over the last weeks they clearly won't to have better polls.
