The core principle of leadership is: "You protect your own" And this does not only include war and terrorism it includes protection from starvation, poverty, from becoming homeless, from losing your life from guns, police-overreach, threats to your health like viruses and more. And the "your" includes all people of the body you lead (America, your state, your city, your family) not only those who voted for you or worse only those who donated to you.
