  2. She managed to be Congresswomen. And she works quite a lot. You don't have to be poor to make policies for the average americans. I'm actually glad she is not overly dependent on money this means she can keep her promise not to take Corporate bribes leaving her independent and concentrating on things people want not donors.

  3.  @gattaca5911  Concept is called "Socialising the costs and privatizing the profits." - Ironic that Corporations and Wealthy people love Socialism ... for themselves. Socialism for the Rich, Capitalism for the normal people. And it works in so many sectors. Military / Private Security, Nasa/Space Industry, Fossil Fuel Industry, Farming, now also Semiconductors/Chips.

  4. Imagine the US Tax Payer who pays for the research of new pharmaceuticals would keep the patents in public hand and just license drugs to private industry. This could actually generate money for the tax payer. Taxes in other areas could be reduced. The public hand could even force companies to certain prices ... or they risk losing the license.

  5. It must not be like that. America could negotiate all drug prices with the industry. Universal Healthcare would make this even more effective because companies would lose the American market if they get too greedy. This is one reason why other countries pay 2 to 3 times less even for patented drugs during the first years because their healtcare provider it negotiating prices for the whole country. No deal - no market.

  7.  @Thezuule1  True. America has something evil labeled "Extended Patent Time" it's designed to keep cheaper but chemical equal generics out of the market (= monopol) often twice as long as the normal patent.

  11. The legal bribery of tens of millions by pharam-corporations to Corporate Democrats and Republicans are the problem. They are bribed to not change a piece of law and leave things as they are. AOC and the other real progressives do not take Corporate Pac money. This is why the rest of Washington hates Progressives because they refuse to swim in the swamp and even threatening to end the swamp.
