This explains the goals of Socialism pretty well ... A socialist and a capitalist meet in a train. The capitalist heading for the first class is saying "So you want to get rid of the 1st class?" The socialist responds "No we actually want to get rid of the 2nd class."

Most people not know that Communism was never reached. It always stopped on the last step to it called Dictatorial Communism. When a few (usually party members) take all the power for themselves to convert society. The problem is: Those party members love this so much that they never let go of it.

Do I like or support Communism? No. Because I think it would require a different kind of being than humans. We are flawed and needy and tend to choose the way of least resistence optimally doing nothing. And it makes us do stupid things undermining the idea of Communism and prevent it from working. What we need is a mixed model. Incentives to work with good rewards combined with policies preventing you from falling below a minimum. The best model for that is social market economy to allow supply and demand to control flow. UBI to ensure the minimum level and nationalization of all core services of society energy, water, transport, communication, education, healthcare and partially housing to keep them cheap, available, reliable and safe.

P.S. And What I would abandon is Capitalism the idea that you get something for just owning things. This allows people to get money for doing nothing. This role is fullfilled by UBI ... but it will not make you rich for that you need to work. We cannot have portions of society getting money for doing nothing. All this money is coming from people who need to work to make money and it creates inequality and frankly it's a waste of workforce. We need ALL to do their share of work to create wealth which is raising the standard of living for all of us. There are other ways to getting investment money than creating shares and distributing money later by dividends.

My simple definitions ... Socialism = Shared burden on expenses in exchange for some shares on income Communism = Noone owns anything, all is shared costs and profits
