I'm not sure how I need to interpret this. Could you define what a man should be in your opinion.

"Power doesn't panic" is something I recently heared which is applicable here I think. And those insecure ba.... men cannot even take the smallest degree of empathy in males. Let's get this out of the way: Males have the same emotions as females ... they are usually just hiding it more. And they hiding it because the culture told them to hide it and exactly this hiding of emotions is breaking down due to cultural changes accelerated especially by social media because we simply talk more about it. Does it make us less "manly"? Depends on what you understand under "manly". If you think hiding your emotions and living out your frustration about your suppressed emotions in bullying, bad mood and potentially even violence instead ... maybe. But more and more men prefer not to stress their partner, friends and family with the side-effects of their suppressed emotions and began to talk about it ... because society became more accepting of talking about it.

Who knows, maybe if he had been able to talk about his emotions he might not have started to drink. Maybe he had not ruined his marriage by drinking and not talking about his emotions, maybe he not had lost his job due to all this suppression and not talking about it. It is all connected and all because some men are offended by men showing emotions and talking about their emotions and made the rest of society suppress it too.

Honest to yourself ... no matter what society thinks of you.

For some reason the movie "Grand Turino" came to my mind. I shows it all and it also shows how men can change and what really counts as "strength" or "manliness".

Hey Ben this connects well to your "girly drinks" comedy.

Because they are highly insecure and would do everything to diminish their insecurity. And because they think they are always right (nice pun) they would never consider changing themselves and instead try to change their environment. In other words they want the rest of the world to think like them ... to the point of forcing it.
