There is another factor which is currently helping Unions to flourish. Covid shown people that there is more to life than working and people began to realize how terrible their jobs are and people are more likly to try to find a better job. There is more labour mobility out there which corporations really hate when employee are quick to quit. And there is another component due to Covid deaths, job mobility and economical recovery and growth even: The unemployment rate is extremly low. Companies are currently very careful when threatening people to fire them because they know they might get problems finding replacements. This is giving working people a taste of what Union provide ... negotiation power. And this is also the reason why you start to hear voices from the wealthy that the unemployment rate should be increased again to 5%. So the pressure employers have over employees to pressure them into accepting bad working conditions and low wage and unpayed overtime comes back. There is a larger concept behind this strategy called "Keep them poor". One of the most evil and most greedy concepts in capitalism. So use the momentum because they will do all in their power to get back their power over working people. And they will certainly try to crush all labour union movements before they get a hold and enough power and influence to ask for concessions from the companies.

Having worker rights, worker protections and fair compensations for your work is nothing political ... except for those who not live on earned income. And none is talking about Marxism or Socialism or Communism even. This time is gone. It was tried in the 20th century and failed. But the problems remained. And some countries in Europe found solution without turning into dicatorial communism. And those countries provide a fundamentally better life as a normal person, a life with more dignity and less worries and fear. And it's also working out for companies by higher work statistifaction, quality and productivity.

I have a wish to make or let's call it a suggestion: Please do not use the term "working class" anymore. It's historical and socially tainted people think immediatly about coal workers, or steel workers or people in the food industry. Call it "working people" instead. The problem with "working class" is when you use it, employees in offices, education, healthcare even self-employed people immediatly think they are not part of this but they suffer under the same problem as so called "unionised jobs". Low wage, too much work, no negotiation power and only minimal working conditions. Society has changed in the last 40 years. The rise of the financial market and the further refinement of capitalism changed things and society is now divided between people who work for their living and getting earned income and those who live on unearned income by means of just owning things and live on the fruits of the working people. Rents, mortgages, dividends, debt/intrest, etc. And if you look very close into politics you will see all policies run along this line in society between those who work - and those who own. So please use "working people" to include all who need to work for their living.

Outdated thinking. 100 years old in fact almost to the year. Noone wants to resurect Communism. People just want some social in capitalism.

Harsh pun to people regarding "needing TicToc" there Yasmin. ... I like it. It's brutally honest, but I think it's time for some brutal honesty in America. Acknowledgement of problems is the first step to solve them and someone needs to do the unenviable task of saying them out loud even if everyone hates to hear them and/or having to deal with them.
