  1. If you play videogames you can actually simulate a little what happens. Cheat yourself invincible or endless money or totally overpowered. For a while you enjoy this but then you start to notice something is wrong and start to do crazy things you normally would not do and which may even make no sense. You seek something but you don't know what it is. Then this strange feeling of senselessness grows and you lose interest in the game and perhaps playing at all or doing anything at all.

  2. Being superrich frees you from consequences. With the loss of consequences you do not care anymore about anything because almost nothing you do has any consequences. Whatever it is you do money buys you out of the consequences. This in turn makes you asking "why am I here" or "what is my purpose" or even "what is the point of all this". And just getting more money isn't cutting it anymore you see no sense no purpose anymore and begin to try different things in search of purpose ... and some get strange ideas about seeking consequences. And quite often they giving up but they don't have the courage to end it quickly so they do it slowly with substance abuse or risking their lifes unnecessarily.
