If I had one wish granted by a god I would wish humanity loses the ability to lie or show clear physical signs when someone does. All past wars began with lies, discrimination, a lot of catastrophic failure comes from lies, broken relationships, destroyed environments, haltered progress, bad decissions ... all goes back to dishonesty. We make our own hell by lying to each other and not givine the Truth proper respect. And the more often we lie the less Trust there is eroding the foundation of society and any kind of teamwork and cooperation. There is a saying: "Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the Truth." and some day is pay day. EDIT: If I cannot get my wish then I would want another wish: Every human has a right to Truth. Therefore I want a new human right a "Right for Truth" every human should have and I'm sure every human want to have - except the liars. It will not stop the lying, but it makes everyone who does responsible for lying. It creates a legal basis to take people like Tucker Carlson or Trump accountable. You still need to prove the Truth before a court but there is a clear legal basis. And it will create a balance to the Freedom of Speech limiting your Freedom to the Truth.

Too bad it is not constantly visible on the screen. Maybe the next judge should sentence them to exactly this: To clearly declarate themselves. Like "Do not drink harmful for you" on a bottle of acid.

There is a clear seperation between Facts and Opinions. You can lie on facts. If you do it intentionally it is a lie, if unintentional it's misinformation but you cannot lie on opinions except to yourself. I don't care what opinion someone has everyone has a right to have one hence Freedom of Speech. But the question is ... is Freedom of Speech a Freedom to Lie? a right to lie on the facts?

If someone does it should not be called "news" or hide the bias and/or funding which is taking place. Only with these people can adjust their perception of what they get to hear. The problem is that Fox is decepting people about their bias - AND - that noone should take them seriously by pretending to be "impartial" and truthful.

Yeah maybe ... but noone who watches Fox see a declaration of this either. Maybe if it would be called "Fox Entertainment" or "Disclaimer: Everything we tell is a lie. Do not take it serious or you may harm yourself." Mmm maybe this is exactly what the next judge should sentence Fox to. Clear declaration.

Critical Thinking is like a lie detector this is why they try to reduce education to make lying easier. The more Truth you already know the easier it becomes to detect lies. Sometimes it's possible to use logic to find inconsistencies (things which cannot be at the same time).

Do you have something substancial to add to the debate?
