  1. The problem with drilling in the US is it is very costly. When the price for oil is below a certain minimum drilling in the US becomes unprofitable. Other countries used this to sideline the US by raising supply from their end. However US oil countered it with automation. This is why the oil industry lost 61% of the jobs but drilling more oil than ever in history. They try to make the oil cheaper so lower oil prices does not make it unprofitable. And the people are told it's the "Green New Deal" to escape the blame and put it on something that's threatening their profits as well.
