And there at 2:55 is the next issue, ignorance about "How are laws made". People think the president/governernor can do everything ("One person can do a lot of things"). Congress is doing the laws and you need to convince quite a lot of people to pass anything. The president/governor is only signing it.

The real question is "justified response" -- the limits of self-defense. You are only allowed to use self-defense when you are in immediate life-threatening danger. And you are only allowed to use appropriate response. Meaning if someone is touching you you have no right to respond with deadly measures.

"You can't take back a bullet" -- I recently stumbled over this simple on the point response to gun ownership and the responsibility of the person at the trigger.

"Nothing is ever free" is also true for gun-ownership in America. For you the immediate costs are clear purchase, ammo, save storage and maintenance are easy to spot. But it doesn't end there. Because things can go wrong maybe you or someone in your household is hurting anybody with that gun. Then you have additional costs money, emotional costs perhaps even life. But it still doesn't end there. Because everyone can have a gun the costs rise without you noticing by taxes, by higher insurances bills, by more costs for police and healthcare. Innocents get hurt costs all of society has to pay for. Loss of income, ideas and progress these innocents would have provided for society. Costs for healthcare to deal with the consequences of stray bullets, accidental shots, etc. Gun ownership is holding American society back and solves more problems then it solves and it costs gigantic amounts of money each year you pay for without really noticing in addition to your own costs. And some costs cannot even be estimated in money because you never know what people hit by a bullet may have done for society.
