  2. The idea that red states are totally reliant on federal funding never crossed their minds? Who is doing the bookkeeping there? Surely they should have realized that without federal workers and federal funding they are screwed.

  3. It is even more problematic than most realize yet. The money from the federal government and the wages payed by them were locally spend in supermarkets, shops, restaurants, etc. With the loss of this funding the communities now get less income even in sectors which have nothing to do with the government. It's like a chainreaction. People should know this. Communities who lost US military bases can tell you about the effects this has.
