1) Trumps narcissism - They love trophies 2) Trump wanted material to blackmail 3) Trump wanted material to exchange for favors 4) Trump wanted to sell material

Sometimes it feels like taken from a James Bond movie ... and Trump is the villain.

@trumpjr3940 Well I'm not the biggest fan of CNN so I am carefully considering what I hear with a healthy amount of doubt. So let's say I trust CNN to 70% and mostly because I get confirmation from other news sources including foreign ones saying the same.

- They did ask for them in a subpoena. - Trump refused to return them. - Even started his own court case to delay the return. - Than he gave back 15 boxes in January and sworn under oath "That's all" - National Archives checked and found out it's not all - FBI makes a Search and Seizure to protect national security because the remaining documents are a security risk for the United States of America in Trumps Mar-a-Lago with barely any security and constant foreign visitors.

- 300 documents in total - Trump gave back some of the documents (these are the 700 pages mentioned) and sweared under oath "That's all" - The National Archives checked and noticed there are still some missing - And the FBI Search and Seizure was made to take the remaining stuff

Yeah "armed" with pen, pencil and a calculator to find the bad guys who cheated on the costs of us.
2
What exactly? And Do you have any proof that we can consider?
2
This is not about them wanting them, but about Trump not having them anymore because it's a security risk for the United States of America.
2
Nah, Al Capone stumbled over not paying taxes properly ... might be something for Trump as well but we deal with this later. This here is potentially espionage.
2
Because perception is everything in politics. And people trust the wrong information sources. EDIT: Well, that's why they managed to become Congressmen. If there were some kind of test they would all fall through but sadly "Only the Best and Brightest" is no longer a thing.
1
You misunderstood something here. They asked Trump to return them. Trump refused, made a court case to delay further but lost and than gave 15 boxes with 700 pages back and sweared under oath "That's all". But the Archives knew from copies and records there is more ... potentially also from someone around Trump and made this FBI Search 2 weeks ago to take the rest.
1
You still don't get it. Even taking some of the documents is a felony. They are supposed to be read in special secured facilities (these SCIF-documents). If you or I did this with just 1 document we would be sitting in jail for espionage. It does not even matter what's in these documents because if they have this label special rules come in effect and Trump broke a lot of them.
1
They don't want to know. And details and nuance are wasted on them. They refuse to listen because everyone is telling them everyone but Fox is lying to them.
1
Because it's still 90% truthful contrary to Fox reaching 10% nowadays.
1
Present proof or this is just misinformation.
1
@andrewpinson1268 I didn't say you are stupid or what you say in untrue ... I just said I need more evidence and background before I can consider it to be true.
1
Because Trump is a former president of the United States and the justice system never had to deal with a potentially criminal president.
1
The only one saying it is a "hoax" is the person in question of the reports. And before you start: No the others just repeating him to stay in good graces.
1
Trump is using the American justice system to obstruct justice that's what it is.
1
Well you missing some background information here. There are multiple copies of each document as well as records and logs where they are, who has them and who accessed them. This is absolutely normal there is never just one copy. Imagine a fire would break out or a hurricane or flood or something ... So they knew that something was missing and also what was missing. It was just the question who had them and where. The National Archives asked Trump twice to return the documents. He refused first, than made an own court case to delay it, than gave back 15 boxes (the 700 pages mentioned here) and testified under oath "This is all." But it wasn't ... that's why they need to make this FBI Search and Seizure. Because the documents in Trumps possession were not save. This all happened to protect the security of the United States of America to avoid it falling in wrong hands. EDIT: AND ... Trump lost the security clearance to have and read those document the moment his presidency ended.
1
@lestonthompson8495 It doesn't really matter what's in those document the label Top Secret and Above Top Secret leading to a set of rules for special treatment ... and Trump broke a lot of them. If Trump done anything with those documents or god forbid gave them to others then the content becomes important as well but we will never hear about it only a special court case under Top Secret rules.
1
@lestonthompson8495 Do you want to argue Trump can commit espionage and treason because others might or might not done as well? No. If Trump done wrong I want to see him punished. If Hillary done wrong as well.
1
Do you think there is only one copy of those documents? Every document has copies and a record and log where everyone is. This is how they found out what is missing in the first place. They don't want the document because it's the only copy, they want them back because they are Top Secret and Trump neighter has the security clearance nor the facilities to keep them save ... in an international golf hotel with foreign visitors coming and going constantly.
1
Sounds like "nothing to see here move along"? Or do you simply don't like what you see?
1
The only one saying it is a "hoax" is the person in question of the reports. And before you start: No the others just repeating him to stay in good graces.
1
You can't blame them having issues here. 1) Never before we had such a security leak in over 200 years. 2) Never before we had a former president of the United States instigating this.
1
The moment you stop being president the moment you lose "Executive Privilege" Biden has nothing to do with it.
1
Apparently 300 documents in total. 700 pages in January (when Trump sworn under oath "That's all"). The total number is to be determined when they finished checking the FBI Search and Seizure boxes.
1
All good questions!
1
This is wrong. He lost the security clearance because he was no longer the President of the United States. The end of the presidency made Trump legally a normal citizen again ... in possession of Confidential, Classified, Top Secret and even above Top Secret SCIF material. If you or I had done his with just 1 document we would be sitting in jail for espionage and potentially even high-treason.
1
Doesn't change what he did now. Two wrongs not make a right. In Trump best case this is espionage because just taking documents with the label SCIF is a felony doesn't matter what's in them .. and in worst case ... treason. Depending on what Trump done with them already.
1
If you are right then America is save and sound and this was just a misunderstanding. If you are not right an american president commited espionage and potentially treason and threatened or broke the National Security of the United States of America. Don't you think this deserves taking a closer look and going through this with a toothpaste ... just to be sure?
1
Trump lost his Executive Privilege the moment his presidency ended. Only the sitting president has this. Trump stopped being a president in Jan 2021.
1
Makes it even worse. Ask him under oath.
1
Trump cannot declassify anything just by waving a wand or just saying so. There is a complex process for declassification involving multiple institutions for approval since all documents have copies, records and logs which have to be adjusted. It usually takes months. And for some reason noone started this process ever for these documents.
1
It doesn't matter what's in them. If they are labeled Top Secret or even Above Top Secret special rules come into place. And Trump broke a lot of them. And before you ask: The National Archives knows what's in them because they have copies of all and records and logs. This is not about the Archives needing them but about Trump not have them anymore because it's a security risk.
1
You kidding right? You want to disclose Top Secrets on the internet?
