  1. Fox is not really dependend on advertisement revenue. They have carrier contracts with the cable network providers. Fox managed to make itself the 2nd most expensive cable channel after ESPN. While normal channels get something between 0,10$ and 0,30$ Fox gets 2$. Per Subscriber per month no matter if people watch it or not. Now there are 90 mio subscribers on cable networks but only 3 mio of them watching Fox all day. You can make the maths I guess. If you wanne help as a cable subscriber than remove Fox from your cable box. It might lead to the Cable providers to offer a smaller carrier fee to Fox or even cancel the contract.
