  1. Trump and Ring-Wing Populism thrives because of support and collaboration or willfull ignorance of the wealthy middle-class. If you not realize this from the start you already lost the battle. Yes there are poor and desperate amongst the supporters as always but the large majority who are listening to people like Trump or Johnson are people without any money-issues ... they only fear to lose it ... especially since 2008 and with Corona. That's what making them support those people: Fear of losing what they have. THIS is actually what CON-servatism is all about: I vote you (I donate to you) and you make sure I stay as I am. And the more threatened the status of the wealthy middle-class is the more they are willing to support ... to not lose what they have left. The sad thing is: In order to try to ensure their economic wellbeing they support people who actually threaten it even more ... but it takes a while for them to see this ... too late for most. And there is always the risk you getting someone getting so influential or even powerful that you have issues getting rid of him when you want to. Trump being a good example now.
