Germany mandates everyone to have a personal-ID from the age of 16 or higher. It's the basis of your national (and now also EU-) identity and work even as a passport in the EU. If you not have enough money to pay for it you are being supported. And it's used for everything else requiring ID from opening bank accounts to unlocking mobile phones even your drivers license is deriving from this. With this you are auto-registered for voting. No extra registration, no extra costs, no extra paperwork, no extra IDs. You get the voting-papers right send at home with the option to request mail-in ballots if you want to. It's easy, simple, equal for all and fair and it doesn't discriminate (besides people who live illegal in the country and have therefore no ID but which makes them easy to spot as well).

That's why the US Democracy should not used as a role model. It has way too much flaws being 200 years old and especially the last years show more and more it's weaknesses. And there are way to much similarities to the mother of all Democracies Britain. And oh wonder, Britain has similar problems as the US. Have a look at Germany, it's also Federal and it's their 3rd Democracy already and it was made Fascism-proof after the last guy 70 years ago.

If the Republicans have it their way the elections ends up like it was in East Germany 30 years ago when only one party was on the ballot paper and you could only choose this party or not vote at all. Result for this party 99% every single time.

You completly misunderstood the problem. This is not about proving your ID before you vote which you of course must do or you could pretend to be your brother and vote for him, this is about getting on the list of voters at all for which you need to register first. And making "Getting on the list of voter" costly or more difficult for some people is discrimination. It's no necesarrily racist because they do this to poor people and workers and homeless as well.

You misunderstood something here. This is not about proving your identity before you actually vote this you must do of course or anyone could vote. Multiple times even. This is about getting registered to even being allowed to vote (and stay on this list). They make it costly and difficult to even get on this list and easier to drop off this list.

In other words the only way for Republicans to win is to cheat and steal elections.

And doing in real what they accused the Democrats of doing last year. - Talk about hyprocrisy.
