Even that is a defense of the lies ... or better a defense against admitting to be wrong.

In the absence of trust and knowledge people believe what they like and don't believe what they don't like. A vicious cycle because truth is more often stuff you probably don't like. And reality (truth) doesn't care what you believe if you go against it you lose.

Is it possible all this comes down to hating to admit being conned and being wrong? It it possible all this is just because humans don't like that? And how long you keep up the resistance to do that before finally giving up and simply say "I was wrong."

What happens when the liars convinced you everyone else is lying?

Trust is the basis of society. We only living together based on trust. It is an intrinsic part of complex societies. When you trust nothing anymore and believe nothing anymore how can you ever build anything more complex than what instinct and feelings allow?

1) Divide and rule/conquer. 2) "Chaos is a ladder" to 1: It's actually a little more complex. The real battle is actually between the 99% and the 1%. The 1% have a serious issue: In a democacy they have only 1% of the votes. So they need media companies to convince at least 50% to vote like them. So what to do? Divide the 99% in two camps and let them fight each other. Makes it easier to reach the 50%.

Sometimes I wonder if all this misinformation leading to a continuous state of cognitive dissonance is responsible for this. I doubt human minds are build for prolonged exposure.
