At least for the ones using religion as "bussiness".

They don't cry. They tell Tucker Carlson and Fox and Co. to do it for them.

Rubbish! The super-rich added 1 trillion dollar to their wealth right in the pandemic. It's only a question who and what you tax but the rule should always be: Tax the people who hardly feel it anyway and take the hit without problems.

You know what the EU does in those cases ... close the market for them. "If you don't pay your fair share ... you don't earn money from/with us" This is how the EU is rewarding companies who don't cheat. Not the customer, not the worker, not the environment and now also not on taxes.

In 70 years it didn't worked. It's a lie! The only thing I'm not sure if you just repeating it or you know it and still tell this rubbish. Look at Scandinavia more than four times the taxes of the US and everyone says Scandinavia offers the best lifes for average people and the least problems in society.

@shlockofgod You kidding me right? You call this US system "highly regulated"? It's only a fraction of what the rest of the world is doing and look where it lead the US economy to an economic wasteland exporting jobs by the millions because there are no regulations preventing this or punishing this. Take your backwater obsolete and failed 20th century economics to your grave. It's time for something new.

@shlockofgod My point is: Another system might have created larger wealth. THIS is the great lie. Saying "It created huge amounts of wealth" while leaving out that another way might have lead to much more and much less problems. The point is it must create wealth for ALL not some extrem wealth for some on the costs of the other. In any case: 70 years if you leave out the World Wars which did not take place on american soil argueable for 100 years this system lead to so many problems today. And there is no indicator that even less regulation make it any better. There is one indicator who is showing how "well" an economy + society is working and how good the living standard is: The Income Equality. And the US is the sorry last place on this planet. Lay over the other socio-economic indicators and you can see a pattern.

If you say: Only when you earn MORE THAN 400.000$ per year ... it quickly cools down the debate. And polls actually shown that the people are willing to pay more tax if they get something in return for it. Like more and better infrastructure, better roads, better envrionment, less criminality, better schools, better healthcare, better protection when going into troubles in life, e.g. when getting unemployed or other existencial threats.

Please check the budget first before saying such things. And keep in mind "we" are the very people from whom this money is collected as taxes in the first place and who this money is benefitting now. So what's wrong with money for the people who payed it years or decades earlier as taxes? They only get back what they payed for.

So you think 10% in the US earn 400.000$ or more in the US? ... Better try next time! This is the top 1%. So 99% are not affected. EDIT: Oh just seen ... is that supposed to be irony (90 + 30 = 100% ????).

The top 1% paying only 7% income tax on average while normal people pay between 17 and 22%. How is this fair. You cannot think in absolute numbers here. Someone with 400k or more hardly notice a tax increase even if it would double. Do the same for poor-people and they go bankrupt. So what. Then the wealthy cannot get 2 new Teslas every year just one ... still one more Tesla than normal people who can only buy a car every 6 years or so.

You are both wrong. McConnel makes tax laws for the people who donate the most to him and the GOP ... the super-rich meaning top 1% only. You still didn't figured that out yet!?! The GOP does what the 1% want in return, but they need the middle-class to vote them. So they tell the middle-class what they want to hear, but in the end only the 1% get something out of it. In the view of the GOP you wealthy middle-class guys are useful idiots for them so they stay in power. And as long as you keep believing the lies from them nothing will improve.

The Problem is you not only need 50% + VP in the Senate you actually need 60% to get anything done since almost everything is a budget decission or budget related (spending).

Yes because their donors running amok on those taxes. My advice to the Democrats: Get rid of those people, they are a danger to all policies and their blocking will only ensure the Republicans will be voted back into office. They are DINOs. Democrats in name only and actually belonging on the other side to the Republicans ... at least that's what their voting record shows.
