Crimea is full of Russians because the Sovjet Union made their vaccations there and had their holiday homes and because Crimea housed the Black Sea Fleet of the Sovjet Union therefore a lot of military and ex-military Russians lived there. But it is still Ukrainian territory. In New Mexico and Texas live a lot of Mexicans and Spanish is spoken all around. So the southern parts of both states should now go to Mexico because of that? This is the logic Putin is applying to Crimea and Donbas. On Donbas it should be noted that Donbas has a lot of heavy-industry the coal, the iron and other rare metals like Titanium. It also has a lot of industry and generating 30% of Ukrainian exports. Why do you think Putin is sending Russians there for years to live there?

@TJtheHuman NATO is an invasion insurance policy with a simple motto: An attack on one is an attack on all ... Only governments who seek to invade are against NATO. NATO was activated only once in over 50 years and that was after an attack on one of it's members on 9/11. ALL other military conflicts might be done by some NATO members but not in the name of NATO or according to NATO's founding principles. A problem of NATO is the rule that you must spend 2% of your countries GDP to your own military spending each year to ensure in case the forces are needed to protect you or another attacked NATO members and countries seeking peace not war have an idealistic problem with that ... but still like the protective nature of being a NATO member. And Putin now proved to the world that NATO is sadly still needed with people like Putin, Xi, Edogan, Assad and others still around who seek to conquers and invade. If we get rid of governments who still want to use military conquest to get richer and expand we can consider dissolving NATO.
