The thing with the "everyone thinks it, so it must be true" has actually a name: Confirmation-Bias you could also call it "group thinking". But it's a terribly unreliable and dangerous especially with channels like Fox, OAN, Newsmax around who all say the same and all who confirm you watched the same channel. This is actually the reason why the same people say: Don't watch CNN or MSNBC or Left Social Media because they actually say something else and might give you an information the other hide from you.

@dafttool All nice and thanks for the sources, but I still find my simplified approach a little more ... ehm ... practical ... "ergonomic" (?)

"Stop the Steal" was in 2016 as well. Introduced by Trumps Friend Roger Stone he later pardoned from Prison and like in 2020 they scammed money from supporters to "Stop the Steal" or so they say while keeping some if not even all money for themselves.

So what is the correct handling of these types? Argueing don't work. Ignoring maybe? Try to cut them off any political media for a while? Must it be really a war first before those people come to their senses. Germans lost their hold by Hitler over them with the 2nd World War because attrocious things and losses happend. Originally I thought January-06 would be bad enough for people to wake up but apparently it wasn't enough. I can't believe those people would support Trump up to the point to destroy American Democracy and with it the The United States of America as it exists. Do we really need to lose things before we start to value them? Deceny, Integrity, Honesty and Empathy. Those are the values America was founded on and to get away from Britain who had with the monarchy nothing of this. And the Republican party lost almost all of this as well with the exception of Liz Cheney today who at least preserved honesty and integrity on this occasion.

(2) = Devotion, Blind Following. It makes you like Love blind and ignorant of shortcommings, mistakes, lies and you want to do everything to please the devoted and leaves you completly open to manipulation. It has no place in politics and is maybe one of the greatest dangers to Democracy besides Indifference and Ignorance.

No because everyday we see evidence for the opposit. Just watch his speeches, watch Jen Psakis daily White House Press Conferences to discover what's going on. It shows a completly different picture and makes your statment simply unbelievable. But make no mistake here, we recognize that he is old and not the fittest anymore but he is doing well so far. We also recognize that not everything is good, but we criticse him for that. See that's something Trumpists can't do. They cannot say something bad about him no matter what. Thats called devotion and not simple loyalty. And it's rather dangerous for you because it makes you easy to manipulate.
